Hardcover. Oblong small quarto. Measuring 11" x 8.25". Cord-tied paper over boards. 53 gelatin silver images most measuring around 4.25" x 3.5" and mounted with corners, one or two to the page, with a few a bit larger. Uncaptioned (we took a couple of the images out of the corners and could find no information on the backs, but were unwilling to do so with all of them). Overall fine. While the photographer is unknown we can date the images to 1931 based on the scaffolding seen around the Waldorf-Astoria Towers in several photos. The shots were taken from several vantage points around the city including Central Park (looking across or out from the park) and from boat in the East and Hudson Rivers. A splendid compilation of images of the New York skyline, many of the building shrouded with fog or smog, several taken at night, a few from the harbor, one with a dirigible above the city, and most of them strikingly impressionistic.
